Current Gigs

Every Sunday -- The Jazz Brunch at Ruggles on Westheimer/Montrose from 11-3pm. It's a fun six-piece band led by Ken Mondshine which draws a great crowd. Joe Sample drops in regularly and plays. Bobby Lyle did the same last month. It's pretty inspiring being in the presence of these two great Houston players.

Recording Projects

Spent the last week (8/1 and 8/4) recording in my home joint doing some trio sessions. The results can be heard on the Music page. I was pretty excited about the fidelity considered it was just something we setup in the living room.

In June, I did a project for alto saxophonist Eddie Akhmetchine with Clyde Adams, Chris Maresh, and Paul Chester. Eddie writes great tunes and plays his butt off. Should be a really cool release.

In December '07 I did a two-day session for Producer/Guitarist Chris Cortez on an album led by an Ohio woodwind player named Mark Piszczek. This should be out next year ('09).
